Broad Horizons: SA German Stories from the Wider World
As German and Wendish migration to South Australia and the United States established parallel settlements and strong Lutheran links, the rich world-experience of scientists, scholars, pastors and missionary wives shaped South Australian society and formed worldwide networks. South Australian descendants too aspired to spheres of study, work, and service abroad, from a New York university to Boer War battlefields. A wide variety of short talks present new and unexpected stories of SA Germans in far-flung places.
