KinderKlub Barossa – our German class for kids

KinderKlub Barossa – our German class for kids

KinderKlub is a fun German class for primary school aged kids with an interest in the German language and culture, organised by the Barossa German Language Association (BGLA).

It is the ideal environment for young Barossans to get in touch with their German heritage, for resident Germans to keep their kids in contact with their culture, or for anyone else interested in introducing their children to a foreign language in a relaxed play environment.

Every week on a Thursday the class meets at 4pm at the Langmeil centre in Tanunda with a little time for kids to settle in and for the adults to make a tea or coffee.

With a wide variety of activities the children are learning German while doing craft, reading stories, singing songs, decorating biscuits, drawing, watching short video clips in German and playing lots of different games.

The sessions are coordinated in a teaching team, with native German speaker Anett going through them speaking only German, ably assisted by local volunteers Liz and Chris to make  sure the children understand everything, no matter whether complete beginner or already a native speaker.

Our wonderful teachers have many years experience working with children in a Kindergarten and primary school environment and the classes are always engaging and fun, so please get in contact to join – new families are always Herzlich Willkommen!
