Unser Gastredner ist dieses Mal Professor Kleanthes K. Grohmann (University of Cyprus & CAT Lab):
“Gestatten, Grohmann — Apropos ‘multi’: Familie, Arbeit, Sprache, Kultur”
In meinem Vortrag werde ich mich und meinen familiären Hintergrund vorstellen. Dabei werde ich auf die im Titel angesprochenen Verständnisse von ‘multi’ zu sprechen kommen — hoffentlich nicht allzu selbstverliebt, sondern als Fallbeispiel. Dieses wird uns aus dem Sachsen von vor 150 Jahren über Griechenland zurück nach Deutschland und dann in die weite Welt hinausbringen. Drei Inseln spielen hierbei eine besondere Rolle: das winzige Poros an der Küste der griechischen Halbinsel Peloponnes, das global gesehen sehr kleine Zypern, im östlichen Mittelmeer gelegen, und das weitaus grössere, kontinentale Australien, insbesondere Südaustralien — und mein erster intensiver Berührungspunkt direkt vor Ihrer Haustür.

Das Kaffee und Kuchen Treffen ist ein gemütliches Zusammensein zur Pflege der deutschen Sprache. Es findet jeden letzten Montag im Monat von 13-15 Uhr im Langmeil Centre, 7 Maria Street in Tanunda statt. Neue Mitglieder und Besucher sind stets willkommen.

The guest speaker is Kleanthes K. Grohmann (University of Cyprus & CAT Lab):
In my talk, I will introduce myself and my family background. In so doing, I will cover the different notions of ‘multi’ mentioned in the title — ideally not too much in a narcissistic way but as a case study. This will take us from the Saxony of 150 years ago to Greece and back to Germany, and then into the big, wide world. Three islands play a particular role here: the tiny Poros off the coast of the Greek peninsula Peloponnese, the globally very small Cyprus in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, and the considerably larger, continental Australia, especially South Australia — and my first intense point of contact, directly at your doorstep.
