On behalf of the Barossa German Language Association, it is with great sadness that I inform our members of the passing of Reto Gasser on Thursday, 20th January 2022.Reto has been very ill for some time, but only in November last year he still came to our last Kaffee und Kuchen for the year and the Committee took him to his favourite cafe in Gawler for a ‘Thank you’ lunch in December. Although he was gravely ill, he still enjoyed himself and managed to tease and joke with us all.We will miss his quick wit, organizational skills, fantastic cooking and professional presentation of any meals he cooked for us. Reto was a wonderful ambassador for the BGLA and would talk about us to everyone he met. He was a very valued Committee member and friend.I am sure you will join me in passing on our deepest sympathy to Reto’s family and friends. Steffi TraegerChair – BGLA
